A Stage for All
The need to use the Theater for events other than just movies has begun! Several performing artist groups toured the Theater to access the possibilities and limiting factors for using the the Theater to host live stage events and productions. The information provided help guide the Art Council in taking some initial actions in improving the capabilities of the Ritz Theater. Some of those improvements are listed here:
Removed the first five rows of fixed seating to allow for an expanded stage area. This was instrumental to the Tooele County Symphony Orchestra in order to seat their entire ensemble of musicians.
Enhanced the video and audio capabilities in the projector booth, including adding a wireless microphone system, improved Blu-ray video connection for projector, and music playback & microphone system dual capability.
Improved stage lighting and stage safety. (We still have a long ways to go to get the lighting where it needs to be for stage productions)
More work is needed to continue to improve the spectator and performer experience. Grants have been requested to help fund some of the “high dollar” needs. We hope that the improvements that we have done and plan to do in the future will make your event more enjoyable.
